Enslaved Unearths New Screenshots and Release Date

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is quickly clambering its way to the top of my “Must Play” List, and thanks to Namco Bandai I now have a solid release date to count the days by. Ninja Theory‘s latest action/adventure title will hit the streets October 5, 2010, and if the game keeps shaping up so strongly, it could even end up being a surprise hit for the fall season.

If the newly released screens above aren’t enough to whet your appetite, then what some of them are postulating might prove enlightening. See the little rotund fellow lurking about in some of the shots? Pay close enough attention and you’ll see that he appears to be a new controllable character, although precisely how large a role this mysterious miscreant will play still remains to be seen.

Come back by in a bit, and  maybe we’ll be able to shed a little more light on just what his appearance means to how Enslaved and its plot will play out once before the title reaches release. Let’s just hope some sort of mech-infused apocalypse doesn’t take us all out by then, eh?
