One of the more truly innovative titles to come out of E3, Children of Eden aims to provide Kinect owners with a trippy reason to get off the couch and (I can’t believe I’m saying this) connect. Planned to be released in 2011 under the Ubisoft banner, this was by far the most eye-catching and intriguing thing I saw at the event, constantly drawing the eye ( I’m sure the multi-story teletron also helped) and forcing me to question what shooters are capable of.
I can’t really enlighten you as to any plot points or major gameplay mechanics, so what you see here is what you get. But man, doesn’t it look surreal? The finished product could be comparable to a next-gen Rez, which is interesting because that game was apparently developed under the codename Project Eden according to some sources. With a Kinect launch docket full of safe-bets and family friendly fare, this journey into the unknown could provide us with the first real look at what this new hardware is truly capable of.
