Good news my fellow Darkspawn slayers!
In case you missed it, Bioware has announced that they are already hard at work on Dragon Age 2, hoping to build on the wildly successful start they crafted previously. Not only that, but they’re so on top of things it appears that the brains in charge have seen fit to give us a solid release date. Remember to mark March 8th on your 2011 issued calendars, otherwise you might run the risk of missing out on this fantastic journey before existence comes to a close in nearby 2012 (when humanity is obviously obliterated by asteroid/robots/oil barons/hubris/ or renegade neo-Mayans).
Dragon Age 2 players taking on the role of Hawke, a “refugee who survives the destruction of his homeland and becomes the Champion of Kirkwall.” It seems that the legens surrounding this hero’s rise to power are shrouded in rumor and mystery, and that his quest will take players through an entirely new narrative spanning 10 years in the franchise’s timeline. Expect recruiting suitably bad-ass allies, making “tough moral choices”, all while striking out to write their own legacy.
“The Dragon Age franchise got off to a tremendous start. With Dragon Age 2, we are building on the outstanding RPG fundamentals the original delivered while taking the franchise in a new direction with faster, more responsive combat that will allow players to think like a general, but fight like a Spartan,†says executive producer Mark Darrah. “We are giving the franchise’s gameplay a shot of adrenaline. We can’t wait to get the game in people’s hands so they can feel the difference.â€
You can check out a new teaser trailer, entitled “Destiny”, at www.DragonAge.com. As for me, well I have to actually find the time to beat the first one. Stupid well paced and heavily plotted masterpiece fantasy title, getting all up in my good natured procrastination…
