The wait for the next chapter in the post apocalyptic world of Fallout is coming to a close. That means, naturally, that it’s time for Bethesda to start torturing us die hard wastelanders with little radiating morsels of media to try and hold us off just a bit longer. The nuclear nugget in question here is a 12 page preview of the All Roads graphic novel available exclusively in the Fallout: New Vegas collector’s edition. Filling some pregame story line, the world of New Vegas is introduced, factions are warring, and events will carry you right up to the beginning of the game itself.
Chris Avellone, the game’s senior designer, worked along side Dark Horse Comics to make sure that this graphic novel is as much a part of the game as any of the programming or voice work that went into it. So much a part in fact, that there are clues to in-game missions for the keenly observant reader. Artists Jean Diaz (Incorruptible) and Wellinton Alves (Shadowland: Blood on the Streets, Nova) and cover artist Geof Darrow (Hard Boiled, The Matrix, Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot) have poured themselves into this graphic novel, offering you their take on the world of New Vegas.
Personally, being a huge fan of Big Guy and Rusty, this is a double win for me!
