In what would have been a difficult prognostication to make (sarcasm), Treyarch has announced that CoD: Black Ops will be including the zombie mode that was so widely acclaimed in CoD: World at War. The announcement comes after a description for the game’s strategy guide was posted on a popular game retailer’s website, stating that many game modes would be covered, including Zombie Mode.
Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch said:
“Zombies have been such a hit with our community that we were committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to Call of Duty: Black Ops. We’ve taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans.â€
CoD: Black Ops will also include a four player co-op mode, just like its predecessor, and with the Hardened and Prestige editions, four updated CoD: World at War maps, a Black Ops medal, Steelbook case, and a Black Ops Avatar outfit. In addition, a new six player co-op mode called Combat Training will allow players to rank up against enemy AI as well.
No word on how much those maps will be if you decide to go with the no frills version and buy them separately.
Call of Duty: Black Ops, zombies and all, will release on Nov. 9th, 2010.
