Today, Bethesda announced that there will in fact be downloadable content for their newest title, Fallout: New Vegas available exclusively on the 360 by holiday this year. In addition my right tear duct produced a small drop of liquid joy which then ran down my cheek.
Pete Hines, VP of marketing and PR had this to say:
“We’re excited to continue the partnership between Bethesda and Microsoft, and build on the success of the game add-ons released for Fallout 3 on Xbox LIVE. Fans will once again be able to continue their experience in the Fallout universe with the add-on packs planned for after the launch of the game.â€
With the success of the 5 DLC’s released for Fallout 3, having some for Fallout:  New Vegas is really kind of a no-brainer. So much of a no-brainer in fact, that Bethesda is announcing its existence before the game has even released. DLC for Fallout is as necessary as air for hard core fans. So no doubt these DLC’s will have new locations as well as weapon and armor to gather up and add to your character, all the while delivering new narratives and characters for you to blow up and loot speak to and assist.
With the previous game’s DLC success, Matt Barlow, GM, IEB Product Marketing for Microsoft says:
“Bethesda set a high bar with the quality of the Fallout game add-ons. We have no doubt that gamers will be thrilled with seeing a new add-on pack extend their adventures with Fallout: New Vegas on Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE.â€
The bar is recognized as being high already folks. Looks like the DLC we get will not just be churned out but made with love and care like its predecessor. With great power, comes great responsibility.
More details about the additional content will be released in coming weeks, and Fallout: New Vegas is out tomorrow!
