Doc Halladay’s up to his usual, wily shenanigans. We’re used to seeing the Phillies ace baffle major league hitters with his devastating five-pitch repertoire, but we sure aren’t used to seeing him on the cover of our 360 games. But that’s just what he’s doing, as 2K Sports recently named him the cover athlete for MLB2K11.
Honestly though, it makes perfect sense. He’s coming off a season where he threw a perfect game, the second post-season no-hitter in Major League Baseball history (Bonus Fact: Don Larsen was the other, in 1956), and led the National League in wins. If that weren’t enough, he’s expected to win the 2010 NL Cy Young award. So we suppose that it’s time good ol’ Roy had his day (assuming that being on the cover of a video game is what he considers to be “a day”).
