By Remember when MTV used to play music? Us neither, and it appears that now they will no longer publish video games.
Word trickled in today that MTV Games has closed up shop following the recent sale of music genre powerhouse Harmonix. Given that the company only published Rock Band titles, the decision doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Rumor has it that a few staffers are sticking around a bit longer in the finance sector, but will ultimately leave after their accounts receivable matters are taken care of.
We’d like to bid adieu to the team at MTV Games, and wish anyone that suddenly found themselves without a job a quick and successful recovery.
