Bangai-O is a title that most people probably aren’t aware of, but those who are remember it fondly. And then they remember how frustrating and difficult it was, and those fond memories turn to Vietnam-esqe flashbacks of temper tantrums and controller chucking around the living room. I’m pretty sure the house I grew up in still has a Dreamcast VMU window dent in the living room wall. Ah, good times.
In any case, those who do remember Bangai-O (and it’s DS sequel from a few years back) will be happy to know that the latest iteration of the series, Bangai-O: Missle Fury, will release next week on Xbox Live Arcade. The game features all the insanity of the previous games, and the added (and much welcomed) bonus of co-op play. Those of you with a lot of free time on your hands should be pleased to hear that the level creator is back as well, enabling you to come up with the most sadistic level designs you can for your friends to constantly die in, and then curse your name for. If you can’t tell, I’m pretty excited.
