We did it, guys. We did it. Together, arm in arm via our internet connections and living rooms, we set the world record for the largest online 100 meter sprint. When the dust settled, and our heart beats returned to normal, we stood triumphant. I’ve never been so proud of my fellow Xboxer. Oh, I promised myself I wouldn’t cry…

Kidding, of course. About the crying, not about the Guinness World Record part. Microsoft and Guinness have both confirmed today that Xbox Nations was a major success, with 10,539 users running together at the same time via Kinect Sports. The record is now up to be considered for inclusion in the next Gamer’s Edition of the Gui-WAIT WHAT?! It’s only being considered? As in, it’s not a sure thing that 10,000 people’s hard work will be included in this year’s edition? You mean, I got off my couch and ran for a few minutes, which is no easy task when you’ve been eating nothing but french bread pizza’s for the last four days, and it was all just to be CONSIDERED?!

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother standing up in the first place. In any event, congrats to everyone who participated in the event.
