[E3 '11] Microsoft Kicks Off E3 With Xbox 360 Media Briefing

Microsoft has officially kicked off E3 2011 with the Xbox 360 Media Briefing live from Los Angeles! Here are the big announcements and what they showed:

  • Show started with a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gameplay demo. DLC will launch first on Xbox 360.
  • Tomb Raider gameplay demo to help officially announce the upcoming game by Crystal Dynamics.
  • Peter Moore takes the stages to share that 4 EA Sports titles will be Kinect enabled, including Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Madden, FIFA and a title to be named later.
    • The Sims 3 Pets, Family Game Night 4 will also be Kinect enabled.
    • Mass Effect 3 will also be Kinect enabled with voice recognition, followed by a demo on stage.
  • Ubisoft shows off Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, we get a demonstration of weapon customization, which is also using Kinect. Impressive demo to say the least.
    • All future Tom Clancy games will use Kinect!
  • New partnerships include YouTube, Bing, as well as Live Television.
  • Dana White takes the stage to show off UFC on Xbox 360 – allowing you to predict fights, and a leaderboard.

The following is Xbox 360 exclusive:

  • CliffyB takes the stage to show off co-op Gears of War 3, along with Ice T. Massive Leviathan enemy is shown.
  • Crytek reveals the first trailer for the Kinect game Ryse.
  • Halo CE Anniversary officially announced, with a fully remastered campaign, Xbox Live Co-Op, and to be released on November 15, 2011
  • Forza Motorsport 4 trailer with all in-game footage shown. Kinect intregation includes voice, and head tracking. Available October 11, 2011.
  • Fable : The Journey unveiled by Peter Molyneux, also Kinect enabled.
  • Minecraft is making its console debut exclusively on Kinect for Xbox 360.
  • Disneyland Adventures, the magic of visiting the Disney park, on Kinect for Xbox 360. Looks similar to Kinect Adventures, yet with a Disney theme.
  • Star Wars Kinect also a live demonstration showing off Lightsaber fights.
  • Tim Schafer takes the stage to show off Sesame Street: Once upon a Monster.
  • Kudo takes the stage to talk about Kinect..
    • Kinect Fun Labs – to be added permanently to the Xbox Dashboard, and will be added, today!
      • Kinect Me – instant Avatar maker.
      • Kinect Sparkler – finger tracking.
      • Googly Eyes – scan objects to create content in games.
  • Kinect Sports Season 2 trailer shown – includes the sports of Baseball, Skiing, Golf, Darts, Tennis, and Football and will be available this Holiday.
  • Dance Central 2 reveals new features including Voice Control, and all songs in Dance Central will be importable.
  • The show ends with the sneak peak at a new trilogy.. Halo 4. To be released in Holiday 2012.
