If there is one thing Capcom knows how to do well, and often, it’s constant rehashing of the same titles over and over again to increase profitability. Case in point, they announced today that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 would be getting an update in November with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

The newest edition of the game will feature 12 new characters (6 from each side), eight new stages, and some balancing tweaks. The game hits store shelves in November at the almost-budget-but-not price of $39.99. Capcom unveiled a few of the characters at SDCC today, but thanks to some clever folks over at NeoGAF, we now know that the 12 characters will be as followed:

Capcom: Strider, Firebrand, Vergil, Frank West, Phoenix Wright, Nemesis

Marvel: Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange, Nova, Rocket Raccoon, Hawkeye, Iron Fist.

In my opinion, the Capcom character roster is strong, and the inclusion of fan favorites Frank West and Phoenix Wright is sure to make for some amazing matches. Marvel, on the other hand….well, I like Iron Fist. The rest of them (especially Rocket Raccoon) seem pretty weak. However, that is sight unseen. When the game launches in November, I’ll be able to make a better case about them, but as of right now, I’m not sold on the Marvel lineup.

We’ll be sure to keep you up to date as more info about the game is released.
