While we were perusing the internet today, we stumbled across an interesting new page on Xbox.com. It appears as though Microsoft has added browser-based versions of four very popular casual games.
The games (Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled 3, Zuma Revenge, and Text Twist 2) seem to be the inaugural titles of a new Xbox.com section that allows players to entertain themselves anywhere with an internet connection. The games appear to be ad-supported and are miniature versions of the full titles.
Each title comes complete with an in-game leaderboard and showcases your Avatar as he/she (probably) urges you on to beat your high score.
It’s no doubt that the purpose of this initiative is most likely to give you a taste of some of the most addictive games on the market, until you inevitably give in and purchase it on another platform. Honestly, we have to say it’s a great idea. A bit of free face time with these games, and it’s almost a given that you’ll come back for more.
