Look up. Now down. Look up again. The Old Spice Guy, Isaiah Mustafa, is in Gears of War 3. Now look back down. Your feet have become dolphins. The sidewalk, an ocean.
On this week’s “Nerd Alert”, a weekly video released by the guys at CollegeHumor and Dorkly, they had Cliff Bleszinski on as a special guest. During the interview, host Jeff Rubin prodded Cliff Bleszinski for an exclusive bit about Gears of War 3, and Bleszinski had this to say:
I’ll tell you that we actually, on a lark, decided to cast Isaiah Mustafa, who’s the Old Spice Guy,as one of the soldiers that you can play as in multiplayer… It’s not a huge part, but we know him through different connections and he’s a great guy. We decided to make him one of the soldiers you can play in the multiplayer and he does a great job with the voiceover.
News out of Comic-Con had released that Mustafa did some voice work for the game as one of the COGs, but this is the first time we’ve heard that he’s actually playable in multiplayer. If’s our not-so-bold guess that he’ll instantly become one of the most played-as characters.

that just sounds of win, I love it when game developers do something awesome like this even when it will have no real bearing on the game itself

Doesn’t sound like it will be a guy in a towel that you can play…Seems like just model with similar facial features and the same voice.
