He’s finally here, and this time staying awake won’t protect you from him. The final DLC character for Mortal Kombat, Freddy Krueger, is now available for download. The video above gives the backstory of how Krueger fits in to the Mortal Kombat universe, and I must say Netherrealm did a fantastic job of tying Freddy’s mytho into the Mortal Kombat world.
Freddy also comes with two new costume packs for Sub-Zero, including his unmasked variant from MK2, and his cyborg variant from Ultimate MK3. I have to say, Netherrealm have done an amazing job with prolonging the life of the new Mortal Kombat. A few years ago I doubt I would have even given a new MK game a decent playthrough, let alone several extended months of talking about it. I hope this isn’t the end of the additional content for Mortal Kombat. I’d love to see them allow some of the boss characters like Kintaro to be playable. Freddy is available for 400 Microsoft Points, or should be available to download if you’ve already purchased the Mortal Kombat Season Pass.
