In the Gears of War universe, the best way to show your bling blang status is to carry golden armaments. Regular weapons are for peasants, and you’re not a peasant, right? No, you’re a high-roller and you won’t rest until you put Lil Wayne to shame.
So, how does one go about acquiring these treasured weapons? Well, if you’ve unlocked the “Veteran Gear” achievement in Gears of War 2 (reach level 100 in multiplayer), you’ve automatically earned all five golden guns. If you aren’t that dedicated, you still have a shot at a few of the weapons, but you need “Veteran Gear” for all five.
| Weapon | Requirement |
| Golden Lancer | Awarded to players that play Gears of War 3 the first week of its release |
| Golden Hammerburst | Awarded to players that play Gears of War 3 the first week of its release |
| Gold Sawed-Off Shotgun | Awarded to players that have unlocked the “Commando” achievement in Gears of War by completing all acts on Insane difficulty |
| Golden Retro Lancer | Awarded to players that played 90 matches in the Gears of War 3 beta, and also scored 100 kills with the Gold Retro Lancer in the beta |
| Golden Gnasher | Only awarded to players that have unlocked the “Veteran Gear” achievement in Gears of War 2 for reaching level 100 in multiplayer |

I’m not sure, but I think that the Golden Hammerburst and the Golden Lancer will be also unlock in Gears 3 if you have them in Gears 2.
Ya they get transferred as well
For the veteran gear achievement do u just have to get to 100 level or do u also have to play the snowbound maps too???
yes, you have to win a match on each of the 4 snowblind maps.
