Rock Band 3 fans should be delighted to know that a brand new title update was released today. Leading the charge in the new update is the return of Soundgardens “Black Hole Sun” and Red Hot Chili Peppers “Dani California.” Both songs were previously made unavailable in Rock Band 3 due to licensing issues; however both have now been re-licensed and are now available to play again.

Additionally, you can now hide songs with a one lighter rating. This will help weed out songs you do not want showing up and crowding up your song list. These songs will also not appear in random set lists. There are several bug fixes that will keep your game from randomly crashing and several more behind-the-scenes fixes that will help the game run smoothly in the future.

I know the loss of “Black Hole Sun” and “Dani California” really hurt when I got Rock Band 3; it’s a relief to finally have both of them back from the dead. Here’s to hoping more of the songs that got left out make their way back at some point in the future.
