As you may or may not know, Minecraft, the addictive PC game, is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade in Spring 2012. The game sold 4 million copies during its Alpha and Beta phase, and with the latest adaptations now available on iOS, we have no idea how many copies the game has sold as of this moment in time. With that being said, we expect Minecraft on XBLA to sell well — really well.

This morning we uncovered an interesting statistic on the game via Xbox.com. The game already has 100,000 ’4.5-5′ star ratings on Xbox.com. The disturbing part is that the game isn’t even out yet (and was only playable at MineCon a few months ago.)

Do we think that Minecraft will sell well? Yes. Do we think that it may legitimately earn 100,000 ’5-star’ reviews once released? Very possible. Do we think that users should be able to rate games that aren’t released yet? No. This is a problem.

What are your thoughts? Do you see any problem with rating games (on Xbox.com), when the game hasn’t been released yet?
