Konami today announced that 3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures 2 will be available for download on the XBLA sometime in early 2010. The sequel to the first game, which was published by the now defunct Sierra Games, has already fixed the biggest problem I had with its predecessor, lack of characters, by announcing that it will support Xbox 360 Avatars!

In 3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures 2, players are challenged to navigate their ball beyond obstacles using the help of secret shortcuts, game-changing power-ups and traps to sabotage the competition. Players can also manipulate the game by using special pick-ups to destroy course obstructions or even interfere with competitor’s shots.

Gamers can bring their A-game as they play in matches of up to four players locally or online. The sequel also offers an intuitive Map Editor tool, allowing full customization of virtual courses and the strategic placement of power-ups and traps.

Putt through over 50 fun-filled holes in diverse locations, such as a Haunted Manor, a Manic Museum and a Winter Wonderland. As an added bonus, players can choose from up to four customizable animated characters and are invited to play using their own Xbox 360 Avatars and watch as their personalities unfold in every course.

Infinity Ward launched a new website yesterday, entitled Mapathy, which teases the new Modern Warfare 2 DLC, and the release date of March 30. Nothing else was teased, but we have a feeling that more information will be posted on the new site as we approach the release date.

Starting March 18, 2010, DJ Hero will be releasing the next DLC pack finally, with the JAY-Z vs. Eminem Mix Pack, featuring the following exclusive mash-ups:

Visceral Games today launched “Get Dismembered in Dead Space 2″, a new contest that will allow you to possibly get yourself into the the upcoming Dead Space 2. The contest lets fans think up the coolest way for Isaac to rip apart a necromorph, and rewards 10 people with a chance at getting into the game.

At the end of the entry period, the community will vote for a winner among ten finalists, who will then have his or her move developed in-game. Additionally, his or her face & body will be mapped to an NPC in game to be torn apart by a necromorph! Nine runners-up will get their names in the game.

Earlier today, our friends over at G4TV gave us a tip, in which they were reporting that Infinity Ward was having some problems, in which security guards had unexpectedly shown up, and weren’t telling IW staff members why. It apparently all started earlier today when some key IW staff didn’t return from a meeting with Activision. At first we thought this was a publicity stunt that was somehow dealing with the upcoming MW2 DLC and with the launch of a similar shooter from rival EA, Battlefield Bad Company 2.

At this hour however, it has become apparent that this is indeed not a joke. In an investor report that was released yesterday from Activision, it clearly mentions on Page F-50, the following information,

In November 2009, the Company released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a game developed by one of the Company’s wholly-owned studios, Infinity Ward. As noted above, Modern Warfare 2 was the best selling console title in the U.S. and Europe in 2009. Consistent with past practice, the Company intends to release a Call of Duty game in 2010 developed by another wholly-owned studio. The Company is concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward. This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation. At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company.

In addition, we are party to other routine claims and suits brought by us and against us in the ordinary course of business, including disputes arising over the ownership of intellectual property rights, contractual claims, employment laws, regulations and relationships, and collection matters. In the opinion of management, after consultation with legal counsel, the outcome of such routine claims and lawsuits will not have a material adverse effect on our business, financial condition, results of operations, or liquidity.

We hope to find out more information later in the day today, but currently have learned that Jason West, the former President/Game Director/CCO/CTO at Infinity Ward is out of a job, as is Vince Zampella (which is unconfirmed at this hour). Plus, it clearly states that a different company will be developing the next Call of Duty.

Army of Two: The 40th Day’s new DLC – ‘Chapters of Deceit’ will be released on April 1, for 800 MSPoints (or $9.99). Players will return to war-torn Shanghai where they will encounter more destruction, more devastation and enemies determined to bring the city to the brink of ruin.

It will feature two all-new co-op campaign maps. In the new chapters, players stumble upon information that could lead to ending the invasion by Jonah and his 40^th Day Initiative army. However, they quickly learn that everyone is out for themselves and to trust no one but their partner.
