Anyone Up For Some Fallout Pong?

1

It shoudn’t be a secret that I have been addicted to Fallout 3 following the Midnight release last week. During one of my nonstop gaming sessions, I stumbled on a certain pool table with 10 cups set up on both sides, in the shape of a triangle. Oh yes, Bethesda definitely kicks ass for having a game of Beer Pong set up in the game.

Anyone else catch any cool easter eggs?

Dead Space Halloween Costume By DirtyDiva

1

Halloween is quite a fun time around these parts: getting to dress up, eat lots of candy, and and have good times with good friends. One of the Xbox Community Managers, DirtyDiva specifically, decided to take on the daunting task of designing Isaac’s suit from Dead Space. Let’s just say we’re glad she undertook this task as the results came out to be nothing short of fantastic. So without further adieu here are pictures of the suit, worn by none other than e.

And she must have an eye for this as the costume was made without taking any measurements!

NXE Gamerpics Being Displayed! Well, sort of…

Comments Off

Previously, if you used MyGamercard.net‘s or Zaam‘s gamercards, and someone had a new shnazy gamerpic created by taking a photo of your avatar on the NXE, all you would see on Xbox.com, or the gamercards would be a question mark with an alternate text of “Xbox 360 Dashboard” if you checked to see where their picture was from. Also, if you were on your 360, the original Xbox logo gamerpic shows up.  Now however, if you look up a gamercard via MGC now, you will see the actual avatar gamerpics.  The avatar gamerpics do not yet work with Zaam’s gamercards, but we’re sure he’ll get on it right away; in fact, if you go to his site and try to generate a gamercard, you will notice that he has an option to “Use Avatar,” so there is something cooking already.  As we draw closer to the release of the NXE, we’re sure more and more features will be enabled.

Here are some pictures to show exactly what we’re talking about, we’ll use our resident Sam Law, who received the NXE as part of the NXE Preview Program.

And finally, I’m sure some of you would like to preview what an avatar looks like right?  Well, we’ve got that for you too, also from MGC.

You can see anyone’s avatar just by using this code, and changing “Spazil” to that person’s gamertag:

And finally, we know the alternate text of the avatar pictures will be “Personal Avatar” courtesy of MGC’s Flash Gamercards. Check it out below. (Just hover over the gamerpic, and it’ll change the gamercard text to “Personal Avatar.”)

That’s all our detective work for this morning! We’ll have more NXE information, particularly about avatars, later today!

More Getting Into NXE Preview

2

In Major Nelson’s latest podcast (released an hour ago at the time of this writing), he and E discuss the NXE Preview Program. Around the 1hr 45min mark they discuss the possibility of selecting more people from those that had previously signed up to be entered into the program.  No word on how many or when this will take place but we will be sure to update you as soon as we know. We’ll be looking for the e-mail as well.
